Safety:
For the safety of the pets in our care, Healing Touch offers one-on-one care. We do not offer pack walks. Additionally, all of our sitters are residents in your area, so if an emergency were to arise, someone is close by.
Experience and Educational Development:
Our experience and knowledge allows us to better understand your pet’s needs and how to best interact with them. Healing Touch strongly believes in continual education and constant renewal of knowledge. As such, we are always updating our expertise of animal behavior and animal care. Healing Touch also requires Pet First Aid Certification for our Pet Sitters.

We understand the value of open communication. You can reach the office between the hours of 9am & 5pm. We also monitor the voice mail, email & text in the off-hours in the case of an emergency. Additionally, our sitters send report cards & notes via the Time To Pet app as soon as the service is complete. You can also text your pet sitter directly on the Time To Pet app. We also publish an ezine titled Healing Touch News, to keep you informed on all business matters and promotions as well as provide you with educational articles about pet care.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands". It is a simple technique to relieve stress and pain that promotes wellness. Reiki is like a mediation that pet sitters give with their hands. It is a non-invasive energy healing modality where, as a practitioner, the pet sitter will place their hands on or slightly above the pets body in a series of hand positions. If the pet doesn't like to be touched, it can be administered from a distance, getting as close to the pet as posibble. Healing is initiated by allowing the practitioner to assist the pet in activating the relaxation response, which helps the pet activate their own, powerful and inherent, self-healing abilities. The body balances itself from a very deep level. It is almost always found to be profoundly relaxing and meditative.
After working for 16 years as a nurse, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus in 2000 & could no longer be around ill patients because of my compromised immune system. A lifelong lover of animals & having many pets of my own, I began watching friends & family members pets. I loved it! In 2013 I started Pawsatively Priceless Petsitters, I was still sick at this time & it gave me a reason to get up & get going in the morning. I loved hanging out with the pets & they gave me that nurturing feeling I had as a nurse. I couldn't believe I could get paid for doing something that I loved! At the time I worked alone or with the assistance of my daughter or her partner. I did not have that many clients in the beginning & just enjoyed working with the pets. As time went on I gained many more clients through word of mouth & became quite busy, working many days from 8 am to 10 pm.
As my business was growing I was searching for solutions to my health issues. In 2014 I took an animal Reiki class because my dog Milo (who has since passed over the rainbow bridge) was diagnosed with arthritis. The teacher took the extra time to explain how I not only could use Reiki to help my dog, but could also use it on myself to heal my Lupus. I began using Reiki to heal myself & started using it my pet sitting practice & on my pets. I was amazed at the results on myself, my pets & the pets in my care. I had never intended to become a Reiki Master, but slowly I began to realize that my calling was not only to care for animals, but to bring Reiki healing to them as well.
At this point my pet sitting business had become to much for one person to handle. I decided it was time to hire some people to help me. One requirement was they had to be open & willing to learn & practice Reiki to care for all the animals in my business that were already receiving Reiki from me. The name Pawsatively Priceless Petsitters, although cute, did not seem to fit my new business. The name Healing Touch Pet Sitters actually came to me in my sleep. I woke up & wrote it on my phone. When I saw it the next day I decided it was the perfect name for a group of dedicated professional pet sitters who are all Reiki trained & have the healing touch!
During a 30 minute visit there is only time for a short treatment. These "mini treatments" are provided as part of our service & are one of the many things that makes Healing Touch Pet Sitters special. Many times this can be given while petting or cuddling a pet who may be anxious because their family is away. This is a great stress reliever for the pet & a short treatment can usually help relieve the pets anxiety.
Is your pet be sick or do they have major issues with anxiety? You may want to schedule a full Reiki treatment for them. Reiki Treatments can be given while you are away for an additional fee, or while you are home. Would you like to give your pet several sessions a day?
